Saben watched horrified. "Shame..." he said quietly. "I guess that just leaves us."

Crimson frowned. "Go back to the refuge Saben."

"You still won't come back with us- me?" he asked.

"What if it didn't work?" Crimson asked.

"We'll have to take the chance." he replied.

"Why?" Crimson asked.

"Because..." he started before thinking up something else. "Because I know I'd rather take my chances and live in a refuge instead of living in an apartment complex." he said. "There's a good chance your infection has stopped, Koralie is... Why wouldn't you stay?"

"Yeah but I'd rather live on my own. Like before. When I never got bit or had a high chance of getting bit!" Crimson told him, turning away.

Saben looked down. "Am I that much of a burden?" he asked himself.

"Yes. You are." Crimson sighed. "You can't drive, you can't fight, and you can't assert yourself. YOU GOT RAPED BY A LITTLE GIRL!" Crimson thought a moment. "Wait... You liked it... So you had sex with a little girl."

"I didn't like it! I did it so I could get your vaccine!" Saben snapped. He turned away. "I'm sorry..." he said, walking away.

Crimson's eyes widened. "You did it for me?"

"Yes..." he said, without turning around.

"Why?" Crimson asked.

"Because I cared about you too much to let you turn into a zombie." he replied.

"Care? How can you care about someone you just met?" Crimson asked.

"Because you went the longest without abandoning me. I thought that you might have actually cared if I lived or not..." he said.

"If you are under my watch I will not let you die." Crimson replied.

"Really?" he asked.

"Of course." Crimson said.

He looked up with a small smile. "So you'll come back with me?"

"I didn't say that." Crimson said.

Saben frowned. "So you don't really care if I die out of sight?"

Crimson looked down. "I can't save you."

"I know you can't. You just don't care." he said. "I'm not asking you to protect me..."
