Chapter 5

Saben nearly dropped his 'food.' He blinked a couple of times before regaining his smile. "You don't look anything how I expected." he said with a small laugh.

Crimson gave him a weird look. "What did you expect?"

"For one, I thought you were a man." he stated with a small laugh. "Well, I was very wrong."

"Obviously." Crimson told him. She shrugged off her jacket to reveal her red dress shirt and black bow. She ate her chips quietly, staring at the ground lost in thought.

He stared at her curiously. His smile seemed unfitting with his blood caked jacket. He looked down and shrugged it off, sliding it behind him. "What are you thinking about?" he asked.

"How long it'll be before we get to St. Louis." she told him flatly.

"Ah..." he responded quietly. He checked out the room around him awkwardly.

Crimson finished her chips and drank down the water. She got up and went to the bathroom. She turned on the shower to see if the water worked. It did. She kept it on and poked her head out. "Do you mind if I take a shower?" she asked Saben.

"I don't mind." he replied. He quickly finished his chips and sighed, gazing mindlessly at a wall.

Crimson shut the door and locked it, still not trusting Saben. She undressed and stepped into the shower. Letting the warm water welcome her.

Saben let the thoughts race through his head. He sighed. He seemed to be with someone who wouldn't abandon him. He didn't want to be alone again.

Crimson soon finished up and walked out, her hair wet and her clothes back on. "So um... How do you want to do this?" she asked him.

He looked up at her with a questioning glance. "Do what?"

"Sleeping." She told him. "Are you too afraid to sleep by yourself or are you okay? I don't see why you'd be afraid to sleep by yourself though. Considering you've been alone all this time." she stated, more to herself.

He smiled. "I think I'll be fine. Thanks for the thought." he told her.

IC: "Okay then. I suggest you take a shower too. I mean... All the blood and stuff... I don't think that is healthy." She told him.

He nodded. He got up and slipped inside the door. He took off his blood covered clothes and stepped inside the shower. He gave a small sigh of relief when warm water came on.

Crimson yawned and sat on the couch that was by the door. She laid down and dozed off.

After a couple of minutes he slipped back out. He looked around and saw Crimson on the couch. He sighed. He wasn't really tired. He didn't even learn her name. He walked and stood, staring out the window. He slunk against the wall, gazing in deep thought.

After an hour passed Crimson awoke. She sat up and shook her head. She looked over at Saben.

Saben looked back at her. He was still wide awake. "Hey." he said softly.

"Hi." She said back. She blinked. "What's your name?"

"I'm Saben Hunt. What's yours?" he asked.

"Crimson Salem." she replied back.

"That's a nice name." he commented.
