Chapter 12

"Oh really?" Crimson asked softly.

"Yes, really." Saben replied. "I don't matter that much." he said, pulling himself away. He had half of a smile on his face.

Crimson grabbed his hand. "You do to me." she said softly.

Saben stared at her. "Do I really?" he asked, matching her tone.

Crimson nodded.

Damien spoke up at that point. "How bad is it?" he called.

Crimson turned around to see him. "Not as bad as it could have been." she answered.

Damien walked up and looked at the wound. "Wow. What happened to get you that?"

"He was stupid and tried to ride his skateboard."

"You can't ride it? Then why do you carry it around?" Damien said with venom, placing his foot on the skateboard.

Crimson looked at Saben. Waiting for his answer.

"I... Don't know. I use it when I need to..." Saben replied.

Damien laughed, kicking off and riding the skateboard around with ease. "That's stupid. How can you 'use it when you need to' if you don't even know how?"

"Damien...." Crimson said in a warning tone.

Damien looked to her, stopping the skateboard in between Saben and Crimson. "What?"

Saben was still smiling, looking down quietly and pulling tufts out of the carpet.

Crimson felt uncomfortable. "S-stop instigating."

"I'm not instigating." Damien replied, kicking off again and rolling to one side of the room.

"You are too!" Crimson said.

"Am not." Damien said playfully.

Crimson frowned. "Right...."

Damien picked up the crowbar from Saben's side. "What an ineffective weapon..."

Crimsons stared at the ground. She wondered what Saben was thinking.

Saben looked up. "It's not ineffective..." he said, defending his weapon.

Damien smirked. "For prying open a car door." he said, flipping it over in his hand.

Crimson stood up. "You two have fun fighting. I'm going to bed." she stalked out.

Damien dropped the crowbar. "Wait up~" he called, following her.

Saben stared after Crimson. "Goodnight..."

Crimson stopped and turned around. "Alone." she said before continuing to her room.
