Chapter 12

Crimson blushed. "Um... Saben... There is something you should know..."

Saben looked up. "What is it?"

Damien walked out of her room. Saben looked from Crimson to Damien. "Oh... I get it." he said, walking out.

"Saben no!" Crimson called after him. "Wait!" She raced to catch up to him.

Saben slowed down before stopping. He sighed. "What?"

"Saben... It's just... You really can't take care of yourself." Crimson said. "I really can't rely on you..."

"This is about taking care of myself and protecting you...?" Saben asked with hurt eyes that were glued the ground. "But Damien can." he added more quietly. "It's fine..." Saben said, walking into his room.

"Saben..." Crimson said. She talked to him through the door. "I'm sorry... I really like you too... but... I can't protect you and try to make sure I save my own ass too."

"You do?" Saben asked. He shook his head and laid down on his bed. "It's fine. I understand... Kind of." he said.

Crimson turned away from the door. "Alright..." She said. She walked away and grabbed a nightgown from Koralie's room before stepping in the shower. She was soon finished and walked back into her room.

Damien was sitting on the edge of her bed. "What was that about?" he asked.

"He told me how he feels..." Crimson said softly. She sat beside him.

"So he does like you after all. It doesn't seem like it." Damien commented.

"Yeah... I guess." Crimson said softly. She smoothed out the night gown. "But I can't be with someone that can't take care of himself. It seems shallow of me to say that though."

"Not at all." Damien responded.

"If you say so." Crimson said simply. She crawled over to where the pillow was and laid down.

Damien laid next to her. He sighed and closed his eyes.

Saben paced his room, waiting for day to break. Maybe he wasn't useful after all.

Crimson turned to look at him. She kissed his lips.

Damien kissed her back, barely opening his eyes.

Saben plopped down on his bed. He wasn't tired anymore.

Crimson placed a hand on his cheek. She leaned in to make the kiss last longer.

Damien rested a hand on her hip as her hand met his cheek.

Saben grabbed his crowbar and looked at it curiously. He took the skateboard out of the corner of his room and placed an unsteady foot on it.

Electricity went through her as he touched her. She wanted him closer.

Damien pulled her closer to him. His hand wrapped around her.

Saben quietly rolled through his room, trying to get how to ride it without breaking his face open.

Crimson rolled on top of him. She stopped kissing him and looked down at him. She smiled sweetly.

Damien smiled back at her. No cock blocks. he silently prayed in his head.

Saben felt like he had mastered it. "I did it!" he said, slipping on it and falling on the floor. His back instantly ached.

Crimson heard a thud. "What was that?" she looked up.
