Chapter 13

"I know." Crimson replied. "But it would be wrong to not allow him to see where we will be dying."

"Where we'll be dying?" Damien laughed. "He'll be dead if we die off."

Saben smiled softly in his sleep, hugging the crowbar closer to him.

Crimson smiled. "He is like a little kid, ya know." she ignored the death comment.

Damien was still frowning. "A little kid in an apocalypse."

"Oh well. I wish I could still act like that. I never got the chance." Crimson stated.

Damien looked to her. "What do you mean?"

Saben sighed softly. The skateboard was near his head, the grip had acquired dirt and tears.

Crimson shook her head. "Never mind. We aren't leaving without him."

Damien poked him with the nail gun, Saben jumping up in surprise. "Saben! We nearly left without you, you've been asleep all day!"

"Damien!" Crimson snapped.

Damien looked to her. "What?"

"That's not nice!"

Saben sat up groggily. "I'm ready now..."

Damien looked at them both innocently. "How?"

"You're being an asshole." Crimson growled under her breath. "Saben can stay on YOUR bike." She turned and walked out, to the exit, without another word.

Damien cringed. "Alright, Saben. Come on." he sighed, walking after Crimson.

Saben blinked slowly getting on to his feet.

Crimson shoved on her helmet and leather jacket and pants. She waited for the boys to get up the stairs.

Damien got on the bike, considering just driving far away from the base. But he held himself back, waiting as Saben trudged up the stairs and plopped behind him drowsily.

Crimson opened the door. "GO!" she yelled. She waited for them, once again, to get out of the safe area so she could close the door.

Damien's bike pushed forward and out into the open. Saben could hardly hold on.

Crimson ran her bike out of the shed type area and shut the door. A bleeding zombie woman, her flesh completely rotted on both legs, charged at Crimson. Her undead face was immediately met by a nail in Crimson's bat. "Take that, bitch." she mumbled before hopping on her bike and taking off after Damien and Saben.

Damien slowed down a bit, much to Saben's relief. Saben felt around, realizing that he had forgotten his crowbar.

Fuck.

Crimson sped up and drove next to him. She yelled over the motors. "Where to first?!"

Damien looked up. "I don't know!"

Crimson rolled her eyes and took the lead. They'd need food. And her saddle bags could hold a lot. So she decided a grocery store would be the best to stop at. Or at least a truck stop.

To her luck she found a store called with a giant sign on it saying Jay's International Food Co. Crimson braked her bike in an unused parking spot.

Damien parked nearby. He looked up at the long abandoned store, before dismounting the bike. "Fun." he said under his breath.

Crimson rolled her eyes once again. "Oh shush. Do you want to be eating canned preservatives the whole time?" She asked him.
