Chapter 11

Crimson finally stopped in front of the shack. She waited for them to stop too before running up and hanging on Damien's arm. "THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!"

Damien laughed. "You can ride it any time you want." he said.

Saben walked into the shack quickly and quietly. Damien looked at her. "So, you live with him?" he asked.

Crimson nodded. "I picked him up back in Illinois."

Damien frowned a little. "He doesn't seem like the type to survive."

Crimson shrugged. "I said the same thing. But he's been doing alright so far."

"Are you good friends?" he asked, leading her into the refuge.

"Good friends are people you've known for a long time. I've only known him for four days tops." Crimson stated. "We are acquaintances."

Damien's smile grew a little. "Good acquaintances?" he joked.

"What does that even mean?" Crimson sighed. She shook her head. "I dunno. I guess. But I hardly know him."

"Really? But if it's been four days..." he said and shook his head. He looked around at the extremely clean refuge. "Wow, nice." he said.

"Ha!" Crimson snorted. "This place nearly made me one of them."

"What?" Damien said, astonished.

"Spidermans." Crimson shivered in disgust.

"Spidermans...?" he questioned.

"They can walk on the god damned ceiling! That is not fair!" Crimson told him. "SABEN!" she called.

Saben poked his head out of a door. "Yes?" he asked.

Crimson tripped over her shoe lace.

Saben fell forward and reached to catch her. "Whoa!" he said as he fell to one knee, looking at his hands where he was grabbing her shoulders. Damien had caught her too, more graceful and had wrapped his arm around her stomach. Damien helped her up. "Oh my." Damien said with a frown.

Crimson looked at Damien. "Thanks." she gave him a sweet smile. She looked at Saben. "What are you doing?"

"I was going to go find food. I never got the chance to look for food." Saben explained.

Damien gave him a strange look. "You never got the chance? How long have you been living here?"

Crimson rolled her eyes at Damien's comment. "We've been pretty busy."

Saben nodded. "I found some food, but we have to cook it..." he explained.

"They don't have a kitchen here or something?" Crimson asked.

"Well, yeah." he said. "Never mind, I'll go... Get it ready I guess." he said.

Damien smirked. "Do you even know how to cook?" he asked. Saben nodded nervously. "Er, yeah..." he lied.

Crimson caught his bluff. "I'll do it. You guys go clean up the rest of the blood. Saben... You clean Koralie's room." Venom was in the last sentence.
